I know there are others like me who don't have a smart phone but we have a pc....could you make an app for windows 10 for pc....I am always contacting my representatives....this app sounds very useful3 votes
No smartphone? No problem! You can use Countable from any computer at www.countable.us
Unfortunately media and America has decided to run a two party system but there are plenty of candidates that have been in politics and are currently running for president (such as Gary Johnson) who should be included in this this!112 votes
If I don't want to vote on an issue, or I don't care enough to vote, how do I just go on to the next issue without a Yea or Nay?28 votes
Great idea! We’ll look into building it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
In some cases emails can be trapped in your spam folder. Please check if the email is there or try searching your email for “Countable”.
If you still cannot find it, please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll set up your account manually.
I'm not sure if this process is due to memory management by the software or some other cause, but after using the app continually for a span of a half hour or more, my phone's back casing heats up significantly and there is a significant drain on my battery life (~65% - 15% in an hour's use). I think it would be good to fix this energy use issue so that users do not have to worry about battery life problems while using this approve moderate amounts of time.8 votes
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The latest version of Countable for iOS has optimizations that should reduce its battery use. Please let us know if this issue persists.
An option to choose what kind of notifications are received would be greatly appreciated. Currently, notifications are an all-or-nothing option on iOS. It would be great to be able to choose to receive notifications that directly relate to my profile (endorsements, etc.), without receiving a notification for every featured bill.1 vote
Great idea. It’s now live. Let us know what you think!
you get notifications that people make comments on your comments but you can't find them once you go into the application1 vote
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. You should be able to see responses to notifications in the latest version of the iOS app under “Activity” (not yet on the web or Android).
Since the community addition to the app it has taken twice as too load. Either get rid of the community comments or make it optional to toggle on off to increase the speed of this app!1 vote
The latest release has numerous performance improvements. Let us know if you’re still encountering speed issues.
We have it – it just wasn’t very visible:
(I) Senator from Vermont, Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders has written new legislation to break up big banks. WHERE IS IS COVERAGE/tweets. I will delete this app as pushing a biased agenda if I don't see coverage on Bernie Sanders (THE ONKY OTHER DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE) SOON!3 votes
I love the idea of Countable at a local level but obviously it means more work, how can we as citizens get involved to help?3 votes
There are a few ways you can get involved:
1 – Help build support for bringing Countable to your City / State – by letting people know (you can even have them “vote” on this idea or one for your City / State)
2 – Help to identify key legislation that would be critical for your City / State
3 – Get in touch with your local lawmakers and let them know about Countable.
Feel free to contact us directly at email@example.com.
Only seeing NYC as an option to see local polls. Was SF a part of this release, because it was mentioned in the last app update.1 vote
Thanks for contacting us. It’ll be live today!
It doesn't do me any good to vote yes or no if a bill has been enacted by the President. Where is the message going when a bill has been enacted over a month ago? Will my messages be treated a spam when they are not relevant? Just saw one enacted on April 1st and had to vote, on June 5th, to get to the next bill. How long before enacted bills are removed?3 votes
Great point. That shouldn’t be happening. We’ll look into it.
I would like the ability to vote on a particular topic without having an automated message being sent to my representative.6 votes
Thanks for the feedback.
You can opt out of message sending from the countable website and Android app today (just click – “Don’t Send”). We’ll be adding that functionality to the ios app in the next release.
I've already confirmed my email address and signed up on your website and I still get the message that my votes don't count because my address has not been confirmed!3 votes
I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Everything should be working normally now. Please let us know if you encounter any additional issues.
Although some of the discussions on politics are interesting, I think that the user community and the developer would benefit more if we focused on providing feedback on this already great app. Things like adding functionality, reporting bugs, changing the way windows are layed out, etc.
This app is obviously connected to the political process, but the Feedback feature doesn't seem intended for free-form political discussion. I could be wrong.
Since the evolution of some apps occurs democratically, If people still want to talk politics in a free format, I suggest someone submit that as a separate feedback item.1 vote
Great point (and idea).
I’ve made some changes to the forum that should minimize the “open” nature of the conversation and focus it on the app.
Let’s see if that helps!
Just started using the app so maybe I haven't figured this all out. I would like to get notifications when bills I select have changes in status.1 vote
Thanks for checking out the app and for the great suggestion.
If you’ve enabled notifications, you’ll get updates whenever a vote occurs on a bill you’ve voted on or for an issue you follow.
Let us know what you think!
I support Bernie for President, but every campaign email I receive asking for me to add my name to some issue requires a donation or it doesn't count. So, I guess I don't count if I don't donate money! Sounds like the same old game that the other candidates are playing! Thank you for rekindling my cynicism! And you are welcome for the $35 I sent you just on principle!1 vote
Each time I open Countable, I'd love to be able to review and vote on the newest bills.3 votes
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
We made a few changes this week that should give you exactly this. You should now see the newest bills that you have not voted on when you log in.
Please let us know what you think!
